API Guidelines

• Semantic consideration when formatting content, especially when choosing a header. For more information refer to the training video on headers.
• Use &, not 'and', as in Oil & Natural Gas
• Use fullsize, not 'full-size', apply for all compound words.
• – (ndash), not '- (hyphen)' or '— (mdash)' to indicate a range, without spaces.

• Speak to the user as “you”
• Don’t refer to “we”
• Be concise
• Use simple word forms
• Write in the present
• Write simply and directly
• Use simple words that everyone knows
• Omit unnecessary phrases
• Use consistent verbs across the arc of an action
• Lead with the goal, not the method
• Never say “never”
• Be friendly, respectful, and focus on the user
• Be humble
• Be positive
• Be essential
• Avoid exclamation points!!!!!!!!!
